2024 Promises Growth and Good Fortune with Affiliate and Performance Marketers

It’s the Year of the Dragon and a leap year, so it’s not hard to imagine that 2024 is going to bring growth and development…especially for affiliate and performance marketers.

2023 was a huge year for the industry with the rise of fintech publishers, content commerce, and new possibilities in the CTV and coupon spaces. So what does this year have in store?

We reached out to experts for predictions on 2024 affiliate marketing trends. Here’s what they had to say.

Increased Use of Technology

Technology partnerships have been extremely beneficial for marketers in the past years. From Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) to Average Order Value (AOV) and everything in-between, these technologies have revolutionised the way we do business.

Take, for example, the record-breaking success of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) during the 2023 Cyber Week. It’s no surprise then that our experts predict this trend will continue strong in 2024.

Jade Mayberry, Head of Affiliate & Performance Partnerships Marketing at dentsu international, believes that ‘lower funnel is now mostly comprised of loyalty/financial tech partners, such as card-linked offers and BNPL, as brands are looking to increase access and affordability with payment options versus heavily discounting to win conversions.’

Mark Andres, Director of Merchants at Finfare Connect also agrees, adding ‘As we move into 2024, a notable trend in affiliate marketing will be the increased use of payment-linked offers by merchants, primarily driven by Open Banking technology. This will facilitate the creation of highly personalised offers based on accurate consumer data.’

Predictions for 2024: Tech Takeover on the Affiliate Marketing Scene

2021 is here with all its promises of growth, good fortune, and interesting numbers – good news for all of us in the affiliate and performance marketing world.

What new trends and developments can we expect in the coming year? The crystal ball may be a bit cloudy on that front, but industry experts have weighed in…and it looks like technology partnerships will continue to be an area of opportunity as we move further into the new year.

From card-linked offers and BNPL to Open Banking technology, the future looks bright for powerful technology partnerships that will bring more personalised, data-driven offers to the market. This is sure to be a lucrative trend for affiliate marketers in 2024.
